ZW3D Display Map

The ZW3D Graphical User Interface (GUI) is designed to maximize the modeling area while providing easy access to the Menus, Toolbars, Data Manager, and User Input Area. It can be use to display and set details on the Menus, Toolbars, Ribbon, etc. Refer to Rapid Customization and Customize Settings. A World Triad is displayed in the lower-left corner of the graphics windows that shows the current orientation of the active part or assembly.
 
 

Title Bar

You can always keep track of what object is active by looking at the ZW3D title bar. It displays the path to the currently active object.
 

Menus

Menus are located across the top of the graphics windows and on the left of the Title Bar. The menus that are active and their selections will vary depending on which level of ZW3D is currently active. The available levels are File, Object, Part, Sketch, Drawing Packet, Drawing Sheet, and CAM.

 

Quick Access Toolbar

Quick Access Toolbar and Menus side-by-side on the left of the Title Bar. Quick Access Toolbar will automatically adjust to the right of the Menus if the Menus is docking. It mainly placed some command button related to documents, such as new, open, print, etc.

 

Toolbars

Toolbars is divided into Document Awared Toolbar and Normal Toolbar. Document Awared Toolbar mainly placed some of the most commonly command buttons used graphics operation. Docking in the working area. Normal Toolbar can float or docked in the main window around and toolbar can dock side by side.

 

Ribbon

The Ribbon located at the top of the Graphics Window. The 5 levels of the Ribbon,which from top to bottom: Ribbon Bar, Ribbon Tab, Ribbon Panel, Ribbon Button, pull-down menu of Ribbon button. The Ribbon that are active and their selections will vary depending on which level of ZW3D is currently active. It will use centralized toolbar button and save more space.

 

Data Manager

The ZW3D Data Manager is located vertically along the left side of the display. It is used to control many aspects of your part, drawing or CAM plan.

 

Status Bar

  • The Status Bar located at the lower right of the Graphics Window. The Status Bar is hidden in default until you press the "Output" bottom to display it.

  • System prompts and messages are displayed in the Status Bar.

  • On the lower right is Text Input Field. In response to a command prompt, keyboard entries can be made in the text input field. Pressing the on the keyboard accepts the entry.  The prompt for the command being executed is located to the left of the window. If a default entry is displayed, a middle-click will accept it. While the cursor is located in the field, standard Windows copy (Ctrl+C), cut (Ctrl+X) and paste (Ctrl+V) functions are available.

  • On the left of message area has a row of buttons which respectively controlling message area and data manager display and hidden.

    Default Wireframe and Surface Color

    Default Wireframe and Surface ColorThese icons are available just below the Text Input Field and allow you to set the default wireframe and surface colors. Pick the icon and then select a color. All new wireframe and surface geometry will default to these colors. You can also set these default colors using the Colors tab of the ZW3D Configuration Form. If wireframe or surface entities are selected for Object Editing, you can also use these icons to change their attributes.
     
     

    Attribute and Pick Filter Buttons

    Attribute and Pick Filter ButtonsIcon and a display area on the right are available that display the 3D Attribute Filter and Pick Filter List.  
     
     

    Step Size Button

    Step Size Button Use the Step Size Button to increase or decrease the numerical step of line and angle when the Increment and Decrement Buttons are picked.  You can modify the step size at any time by selecting the button and entering a new value.
     
     

    View Extent Readout

    The View Extent Readout appears in the lower left corner of the Graphics Window. The readout indicates the extent of the current view. Display functions such as Shading and Facet Regeneration use the current view extent value.

    To Change the View Extent:

    • Pick Dynamic Zoom from the Visualize Tab.
    • Use Dynamic Zoom to change the view extent.

      Or

      Pick one of the zoom related icons Zoom Window Zoom All.

      The view extent readout will update accordingly.
     
     

    Coordinate Readout (Ctrl+K)

    During point input, the Coordinate Readout appears in the lower right corner of the Graphics Window.  The readout indicates the current x,y,z position of the cursor as measured from the world origin. While in sketch mode the coordinates are measured from the origin of the active sketch plane.

    • Press the Control Keys (Ctrl+K) to toggle the coordinate readout on/off.
