Use this form to tell ZW3D where to search for files referenced by assemblies, drawing sheets and CAM process plans. When you open a file, its path is added to the list. If you move a file that ZW3D needs to reference, be sure to add the path to the list. ZW3D searches the current directory first and then the default search directories in the order they are listed. The current directory is the one that ZW3D is running from (i.e., your User Directory).

  1. Use the options to add, remove or reorder the paths in the list (see table below).

  2. Pick OK to save the list or Cancel to close the form without saving it.

  • Add Path
    Displays the Directory Browser. Select a path and then pick OK. The path will be added to the bottom of the ZW3D search path list.

    Removes a selected path from the ZW3D search path list.

  • Move Up
    Moves a selected path up one sequence in the ZW3D search path list.

    Moves a selected path down one sequence in the ZW3D search path list.

    Select all paths in the list.

    Unselect all paths in the list.

  • UnPick Last
    Unselect the last selected path.

  • Import Paths
    Imports a previously Exported *.paths file.  If you have ZW3D paths from another computer or file system, you can Export them and then Import them here so that the same paths are available to both instances of ZW3D.

    Export the current set of ZW3D paths to a file of type *.paths.

  • Save Paths
    Save all paths to the default configuration file.

  • Auto Save
    When enabled, changes to the ZW3D Search Paths list are automatic saved to the default configuration file.

  • Auto Search
    If a component's parent file has been moved or renamed, you are automatically given an opportunity to select a new location.  You are also given the option to automatically search for the component in all files located in all directories listed in the ZW3D Search Paths.

  • Save/use paths in Z3 file
    When enabled, search paths actively listed on the form are saved with the file. If the option is enabled when a file is opened, search paths embedded in the file are added to the active list of search paths. Only search paths that can be accessed in the current user's environment are used.

  • OK
    Accepts the ZW3D search path list and closes the form.

  • Cancel
    Closes the form without saving changes to the ZW3D search path list.
