Visual ManagerThe Visual Manager is accessed from the ZW3D Data Manager. Select the ZW3D Manager from the Tool menu and then select the Visual Manager tab. Use the Visual Manager to easily access and manage all visual aspects of your model including Lighting properties, Echo details, Drop Shadows, Texture and Material displays.

Basic Operational Sequence

  1. To display the Visual Manager, first open the ZW3D Data Manager panel and then select the Visual Manager tab Visual Manager.
     
  2. Select the next to the section of the Visual Manager tree that you wish to manage.
     
  3. Double-left-click or right-click on a parameter value to edit it.  Some parameters are On/Off toggle such as Display Markers and Pixel Lighting
     
  4. Others display a variable control dialogue such as Origin, Color, Brightness and Attenuation.  In the example above, these define Point Light Source locations.

Visual Manager

  • Lighting
    Grouping of all Lighting related settings.
  •  
        
    • Display Markers
      Turns the display of light markers on/off.  Light makers only display when the Visual Manager is active, or when commands  performing on Light are activated.
    •    
    • Pixel Lighting
      Lighting is calculated per screen pixel, otherwise lighting is calculated per display facet vertex.
    •    
    • Lights
      Grouping of all currently added light sources. One light must be involved under this item, and is set to Eye Light by default. Once a new Light is added, the new light replaces the default light.

  • Datum
    Set the display of local datum or/and external datum.

    • Local Display
      Turns the local datum on/off. If "Local Display" is OFF, during Insert Datum command the datum will be unavailable.

    • Global Display
      Turns the global datum on/off. If "Global Display" is OFF, the global datum will be unavailable on the screen.

    • Show Hidden
      Turns the display of datums on/off when they are obscured by other entities.

    • External Display
      Turns the external datum on/off.

    • Auto Size
      Turns the auto size on/off. If "Auto Size" is ON, the size of the datum will be automatically scaled according to the size of the current part.

    • Colorful Show
      Turns the colorful show on/off. If "Colorful Show" is OFF, the datum will be displayed in black and white.

  • Dimension
    Turns the display of dimensions on/off when they are obscured by other entities.

  • Edge
    Set the display of shaded edge and open edge.

    • Shaded Edge
      Turns the display of shaded edge on/off. And set the color and thickness attributes of the edge.

    • Open Edge
      Turns the display of open edge on/off. And set the color, style and thickness attributes of the edge.

  • Back Face
    Set the color of back face. Double-click the Color icon, and select a color for back face or check "Use front color", the back of face will use the same color as the front face.

  • Triad
    Set the display of triad.

    • Triad Display
      Turns the display of triad on/off.

    • Show Hidden
      Turns the display of triad on/off when it is obscured by other entities.

       
  • Echo
    Grouping of echo related settings as below:

    • Detail
      Echo detail level. Controls amount of echo and accuracy of echo for commands that support it. The lower Echo detail level is set, the less resource the system consumes, but the less dynamic preview echoes, and vice versa.

    •    
    • Color
      Color of the echo.
       
  • Attribute Tag Display
    Turns the dislay of attribute tags on/off.

  •    
  • Texture Map Display
    Turns the display of texture maps on/off.

  •    
  • Material Display
    Turns the display of material shaders on/off.

  • Performance Option
    Set the speed of display. There are three options supplied currently. Each option is turn on/off some settings in the visual manager to improve the display speed. The Max performance will take less time to calculate but will decrease the display accuracy. The Max effect means a higher accuracy result but will take longer calculation time. The Balanced is a compromise between Max performance and Max effect.
