Delete Root Objects

Invoked by Edit > Delete (Object Level)

Use this command to physically remove a root object (i.e., Part, Drawing, Root Sketch, CAM Plan) from the currently active file.  This command can be reversed using the Undo command.

Required InputsRequired Inputs

  • From the ZW3D Object Manager, select the root objects to delete and then middle-click to delete them.

  1. Paste root objects from 3D clipboard Copy root objects to 3D clipboard Cut root objects to3D clipboardYou can also Cut, Copy and Paste root objects to and from the 3D Clipboard using the ZW3D Object Manager.  This allows you to move root objects from one ZW3D file to another.
 
 
 
 

Copy Root Object

Invoked by Edit  > Copy (Object Level)

Use this command to copy a root object (i.e., Part, Drawing, Root Sketch, CAM Plan) to the currently active file or another file. If you want to copy to a file that is currently opened in the active session but is not currently active, you need to go to the .Session folder located in your User directory and select the file.

  • Select the root object to copy.

Optional InputsOptional Inputs

  • To File... - Selecting this option displays the File Browser. Use it to select another ZW3D file to receive the copy.
 
 
 
 

Move Root Object

Invoked by Edit > Move (Object Level)

Use this command to move a root object (i.e., Part, Drawing, Root Sketch, CAM Plan) to the currently active file using a different name (similar to Copy Root Object) or to another file. If you want to move to a file that is currently opened in the active session but is not currently active, you need to go to the .Session folder located in your User directory and select the file.

  • Select the root object to move.

Optional InputsOptional Inputs

  • To File... - Selecting this option displays the File Browser. Use it to select another ZW3D file to receive the object.
